About Us

The LightCo is an Australian-owned lighting manufacturer. We design and produce our own range of lighting products at our facility in Australia, then ship directly to customers and trade partners internationally — including the United Kingdom.

Because we manufacture ourselves rather than reselling through middlemen, we have direct control over product quality, specification, and pricing. This means better value and more flexibility for our customers.

We supply a wide range of customers, including:

  • Interior designers and architects specifying for residential or commercial projects
  • Lighting retailers and wholesalers looking to stock Australian-made product
  • Contractors and electricians sourcing project quantities
  • Hospitality and property developers requiring bulk or custom supply
  • Individual retail customers purchasing 1–2 pieces for their home or workspace

Whether you are placing a single order or managing a large project, we welcome your enquiry.

Our products are designed and tested to meet relevant international safety standards. UKCA compliance documentation is available upon request for trade customers importing into the United Kingdom.

We recommend that all products are installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with UK wiring regulations (BS 7671). If you need specific certification documentation for a project or procurement process, please contact us.

Ordering & Payment

All orders are processed through an enquiry-first model — we do not operate a standard add-to-cart checkout. To place an order:

  • Contact us via our enquiry form or email info@thelightco.com.au
  • Include the product name or reference, quantity required, and your UK delivery address
  • We will confirm availability, provide a quote, and send a payment link within 1–2 business days
  • Goods are dispatched once payment has been received and cleared
  • Retail orders (1–2 units): Full payment required before dispatch via secure payment link.
  • Wholesale & bulk orders (3+ units): Deposit of 30–50% to confirm, balance due before dispatch.
  • Custom & made-to-order: Same deposit structure. Production begins only after deposit and written specification confirmation.

We accept payment via bank transfer. Details are provided with your quote.

For standard stock products there is no minimum — we can supply from a single unit. For custom or made-to-order products, a minimum order quantity may apply depending on production requirements, confirmed at time of enquiry.

Yes — we strongly encourage trade customers to request samples before committing to a bulk or custom order, particularly for projects where colour, finish, and scale need to be verified on site.

Sample orders of 1–2 units are available. A fixed shipping fee of £12 applies to sample shipments to the UK. Contact us to arrange a sample.

Wholesale & Custom Orders

Yes. Wholesale and trade pricing is available for qualifying customers placing orders of 3 or more units. Pricing is provided on enquiry and tailored based on volume and frequency.

Wholesale prices are confidential and must not be disclosed to end consumers. If you are a retailer, designer, or trade buyer, please get in touch to discuss partnership options.

Yes. We offer custom and made-to-order lighting for project clients and trade partners. Options include adjustments to size, finish, colour temperature, and design elements, subject to production feasibility.

  • All specifications must be confirmed in writing before production begins
  • We recommend ordering a sample first to validate specification
  • Custom items are non-returnable unless defective or non-conforming with agreed specifications
  • Stock items: Dispatched within 1–3 business days of payment clearance
  • Bulk wholesale: 1–5 business days processing, then transit to UK
  • Custom / made-to-order: 3–6 weeks production, confirmed at order

For project orders with fixed installation dates, contact us early. We can provide written ETA commitments for time-critical shipments.

Shipping to the UK
  • Retail (1–2 units): £12 flat rate per shipment via tracked international courier
  • Wholesale & bulk (3+ units): Quoted individually based on volume, weight, and destination

All freight is ex-works Australia and excludes UK import duties, VAT, and customs clearance fees. See our Shipping Policy for full details.

  • Retail (1–2 units): 7–12 business days via tracked courier
  • Small wholesale (3–20 units): 10–18 business days via air freight
  • Bulk / project: 25–45 business days via sea freight

Timeframes are estimates from dispatch and may vary due to carrier and UK customs processing. All shipments are fully tracked.

Yes. As we ship from Australia, all orders are classified as UK imports. Buyers are responsible for applicable import duties and import VAT (20%). VAT-registered businesses may recover import VAT through their VAT return.

We provide all required documentation: commercial invoice, packing list, and Certificate of Origin on request. For wholesale shipments, we recommend using a UK customs broker.

Returns & After-Sales
  • Retail (UK): 14-day return right under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Goods must be unused and in original packaging. Return freight at customer's cost.
  • Wholesale: Returns within 14 days for stock items in original condition. Restocking fee may apply.
  • Custom / made-to-order: Non-returnable unless defective or non-conforming with agreed specifications.

All returns require a Return Authorisation Number (RAN). See our Refund Policy for full details.

  • Note visible damage on the carrier's delivery documentation before signing
  • Photograph packaging and affected products within 24 hours of delivery
  • Email info@thelightco.com.au within 5 business days with your order reference, photos, and description

Valid claims will be resolved with replacement goods, a credit, or a refund as appropriate.
